- Franz: "When I was little I heard, or I thought I heard, that a life was worth a million dollars because there was a trial and that's what they gave them, a million dollars, so that's what I thought,."
- The hurricane is coming, it's going to screw things up
- It's weird as hell how Hector just vanished that quickly
- From reddit: "Just like the monk's mandala, everything you can work hard for can be undone in an instant."
- Freddy's working as a dishwasher
- I half expected Frank to fire everyone who raised their hand there
- DUBQUE! Mentioned twice
- Dunbar gaining support from the Unions
- Franz doesn't like AFSCME or whatever union that was
- Doug says he's looking out for the President
- He's not a traitor
- Point made on Reddit:
- That scene when Tom and Frank are getting drunk and talking, Frank says, "Last time I got this drunk was when I visited my alma mater. I almost puked myself."
- Tom responds, "That's Chapter 8, POTUS Blows Chunks."
- I looked back what chapter 8 is, sure enough, THE EPISODE CHAPTER 8 IS FRANK AT THE SENTINEL!!!!
- The entire series is just going to be Tom's book.
- Sure that makes no sense but it'd be cool
- Shortening category to "cat" just brings to mind cats for me
- So the voice overs in this episode are basically two competing narratives, right?
- One from the reporter lady, against Underwood, calling him a Tyrant
- And another from the author, Tom? Presumably supporting Underwood
- So Seth took credit for Doug's work there, right?
- Jackie is too nice for politics sometimes, it seems. Or at least too nice for Frank
- Meechum is jealous of Tom's relationship and closeness to the President
- He misses the weird threesome
- Freddy in the oval office!
- "I've still got two hours of my shift."
- Freddy is super dedicated to his work
- "The truth is you never gonna be President."
- Brutal.
- America Works dies just as it was getting started
- Who would've thought a hurricane changing directions would've warranted a "oh shit" moment
- NOW he runs
- So AmWorks isn't dead
- I thought it was interesting that America Works is paying three people to do what could be done by one, or two with shifts
Episode 9
- Corn and sex sounds: Iowa in a nutshell
- Underwood 2016 is in full swing, people laughing and cheering with him
- This speech definitely looks like it's in Iowa, both the venue and the audience are amazingly accurate
- It's going to be cool to see Frank in full on campaign mode
- Frank is suspicious of Tom, he's not going to be happy that he's getting all close to the reporter girl
- Rachel dead?
- Seems too easy for Frank
- I would've thought she would be the thing that brought Frank down
- Is this going to be what pus Doug over the edge?
- I hope he get something more specific about his obsession with Rachel beyond "he's sort of creepy and obsessed with her."
- "Holding onto that table like its stripper's tits."
- Typical Iowan
- Doug is throwing up, maybe he's pregnant too
- Nothings came of that heavy handed egg/pregnancy symbolism from a while back, if it was real it seems like something more should've happened
- throwing coffee at a MacBook instantly freezes the screen. Instantly.
- I can't wait for Doug and Frank's eventual meet up
- There's no way it won't be awesome
- "I've got my government pin."
- Weird police brutality
- Remey is desperate for love
- I can't bring myself to care about his problems really
- Doug and Frank!
- No words, just hands him an envelope
- Doug worked for Dunbar to try and get to Frank
- "I'm not Peter Russo."
- Oh shit.
- Awkward leg hug
- That's only going to make Meechum more jealous
- How is Frank going to handle Doug? This will be interesting.
- Is Frank going to destroy Dunbar using Doug? That'd be neat
- "I will put you in your fucking grave."
- That would be scary to hear from the President.
- Frank's reaction to those gunshots was amazing
- That's some really good acting there
- Is he trying to start a war? After all, no sitting President has ever lost an election while at war.
- That seems a bit risky, even for Frank
- My prediction is that Rachel is not dead, somehow.
