- Plane CGI is always weird I think
- For a computer nerd Cashew-Man really knows how to act
- Doug definitely seems happier now that he's back in the fold a bit
- Claire is badass, LBJ-ing in the bathroom and demanding for the bug to be taken out of the cell
- Claire: Marriage is about respect
- Interesting
- He's a really good actor, also an ugly crier
- But his plan is actually working a little bit, she's opening up to him
- Still no sudden murders or huge bombshell moments. The season is great and I love all the politics and slow planning and maneuvering, but I hope we get one bombshell. I mean I'm sure we will, but still.
- All this maneuvering is going to build up to one big moment I bet.
- Some interesting discussions about marriage with gay guy and Claire
- Ooh he hung himself, not exactly a bombshell moment, but a good plot development
- It might hurt Frank and Claire that Claire was in the room with him
- Claire this press conference confession is not going to go well for Russian relations
- "My wife is stressed."
- Just an observation. This season definitely feels slower than the others. Usually there were big moments at the beginning and end of the season, with lots of slow, intertwining, brooding stuff going on in the middle. This season has more of that, and it's very good still, if not better than slow moving stuff of the other seasons.
- Claire and Frank pissed at each other, here we go, this is pretty interesting
- Figures Frank has no sympathy for the guy (Michael I think)
- Here's some of the lines from the trailer
- "I should've never made you president."
- Oh shit.
- He's hella pissed.
- He doesn't like giving anyone else credit for his actions
Episode 7
- Is this a flashback? Oh or a renewal of vows
- I want flashbacks, but they don't seem to fit with the structure of the show
- It was actually a flash forward
- So, weird
- Here comes the forced smile from the trailer.
- "I touched your shoulder."
- So timid.
- Claire flinched, does she secretly despise Frank now?
- These Buddhists are doing this crazy artwork slowly, more symbolism for the slowness of this season? Eventually resulting in a huge, super cool piece of artwork/bombshell moment
- Claire's hair color is our guide to whether we are in the future or the past
- These flash forwards are odd structurally.
- They do add some mystery. How do Claire and Frank go from how they are to how they will be?
- Frank of course not playing nice with the author and his questions
- I've heard great things about The Stanley Parable (that game he was playing). I want to play it.
- An interesting comment from The Verge's Ross Miller
- And that's The Stanley Parable. After obsesing over violent shooters like Call of Duty in the first two seasons (aka during his rise to pwoer), this season of House of Cards is placing a surprisingly heavy emphasis on indie games — specifically, games where the character is trapped and the pacing is slow, sometimes repetitive. It fits Frank well here. He's tired, and he's not fighting to rise anymore but to maintain — to maintain his position of power — which isn't nearly as exciting.
- Frank's anger really contrasts with these Buddhists who are just there all the time. Are they singing or is that music the soundtrack?
- Awkward party invite from Doug's PT lady
- Oh man, Doug found Rachel
- This is not going to go well
- His PT lady is weird at her party
- It's also weird that he's the last one there
- Or maybe it's not weird and I just don't understand people/party
- She's going to sex him
- Called it
- Franz on the sex: "How do you think it works?"
- Doug and women just creep me out
- For being mainly a way to show the passing of time, this buddhist sand mural thing is getting a lot of screen time
- There's symbolism and everything with it too, but still
- Awww Claire and Frank are happy and together again.
- It's really been a season of ups and downs
- This will be the first full season without Zoe. Just realized that. Unless zombies happen
- Frank's admitting, at least to this author (is his name Thomas? I don't know), that he wouldn't be where he was without Claire.
- Meecham again, still no weird threesome for him this season
- They're sleeping together again, yay!
