iPhone 5, iPad Mini Thought to Be Announced September 12

Sources are telling iMore that on September 12, Apple will announce the new iPhone (Possibly called the iPhone 5) and a new, smaller iPad (possibly called the iPad Mini). These sources also say the new iPhone will be available on September 21, but no reports on when the smaller iPad will be out.
That release date is just 11 months after the iPhone 4S was released, compared to 16 months between the 4 and the 4S. Previously, Apple had aimed for a 12 month interval, disrupted last time by manufacturing delays.

The September event will also likely debut the new iPod Nano and perhaps the next iPod Touch, and it will probably include a presentation of the previously-announced iOS 6.
