Phelps, Lochte Race Again; Women's All-Around Gold Goes to...

(AP) – In Round 2 of Michael Phelps vs. Ryan Lochte, Phelps reigned supreme. The American stars swam against each other for the last time in these Games in the 200-meter individual medley, with Phelps taking the gold (1:54.27) and Lochte the silver (1:54.90). Their first showdown of the London Olympics went to Lochte in a runaway on the opening night of the swimming competition.

This race was a lot closer, with Laszlo Cseh of Hungary finishing third. Two other American swimmers also won gold today: Rebecca Soni in the 200-meter breaststroke and Tyler Clary in the 200-meter backstroke. The win adds to Phelps' record total of medals, now at 20.

(AP) – Might be time to get Gabby Douglas a new nickname. Olympic champ might work. Known as "The Flying Squirrel," Douglas won the women's all-around title today, becoming the third straight American to win gymnastics' biggest prize. It's her second gold medal of the London Games, coming two nights after she and her "Fierce Five" teammates gave the United States its first Olympic title since 1996.

Douglas rocked the O2 Arena with her electric floor routine, flashing a dazzling smile and lots of pizzazz. She finished with a score of 62.232, about three-tenths ahead of Viktoria Komova of Russia, runner-up at last year's world championships. Russia's Aliya Mustafina and USA's Aly Raisman finished with identical scores of 59.566, but the Russian got the bronze on a tiebreaker: The lowest scores for both gymnasts were dropped, and the remaining three were totaled. That gave Mustafina a total of 45.933 and Raisman 45.366.
