Movie Review: Ted

Well, it's here. Seth MacFarlane has made his first movie, and boy is a quality entertainment.
The movie follows a boy who wishes his teddy bear would come alive and be his best friend. And magically, it does.
But all boys, and all teddy bears, grow older, and their friendship soon gets in the way of the man and his long time girlfriend. It's basically a great comedy movie about two buds as they have trouble growing up and becoming men. One of those buds just happens to be a stuffed bear.

The movie is great. First of all, the plot is very interesting, and surprisingly believable. It's rare to find a comedy with strong plot.
Second, the comedy is great. It is a very funny movie, and it's not like some comedies that use the same joke over and over again. Almost every joke is original and funny.
Third, its just awesome to see a talking teddy bear on screen in a non-Disney movie.

Now, Seth MacFarlane is best known for Family Guy, the TV show with all the swearing and references to sex and yadayada. Now, there is certainly some of that in this movie, the movie itself is not incredibly vulgar or rude. If you are very easily offended, some of the 9/11 jokes may make you angry, but over all, its not much more vulgar than your average comedy.

The Bottomline: If you like Family Guy, you'll love this movie. If you don't, there is still a chance that you'll like it, but try not to be easily offended. If you like movies like The Dictator, you will also love this movie. A good movie with good plot and great comedy, and surprisingly good action scenes.
