The name isn't particularly memorable, but Sharp's new LC-90LE745U 90-inch LED TV certainly leaves an impression. It currently holds the crown for largest LED TV in the world, trumping Sharp's 80-inch offerings, and comes with a somewhat predictable range of features for its class, including 1080p resolution, 8,000,000:1 dynamic contrast, 240Hz refresh rates, and, of course, 3D support. The 90-inch monster is also a Wi-Fi enabled Smart TV, offering an integrated web browser and a wide array of apps. The LC-90LE745U is available starting today for $10,999.99.
Now this is exactly what I have been waiting for. The size is comparable to my DLP, only flatter. Now the only problem is that I have to wait even longer for it to be affordable. I bought a projector for the interim, but nothing compares to an actual TV. I want the best quality picture for my HD service from Dish. Our family watches a lot of TV, and so I only watch in HD now that I have 200 HD channels with some of the best quality, 1080p. That way my projector is giving me the best picture it can. One of my Dish co-workers came over and saw my projector and thought I should have kept the DLP, but my wife wanted the monstrosity out of the house.
