1. News Corp. May Split Up
News Corp.'s board is expected to make a decision on Wednesday on a plan that would split the media goliath into two separate companies, one made up of the lucrative entertainment businesses and one holding the newspapers. Shares soared 8.3% on Tuesday after the company confirmed that it was contemplating the plan.

2. Assailants Attack Microsoft HQ In Greece
A group of assailants attacked the offices of Microsoft in Athens early on Wednesday morning, driving a van through the doors and setting off explosives that burned the building entrance. Luckily, there were no reported injuries. So far, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack.

3. College Football Receives Playoff System
The BCS Presidential Oversight Committee announced a four-team playoff for college football on Tuesday, finally eliminating an archaic system in which disparate bowls and polls determined which two teams would compete for the national championship. The new structure will be adopted in 2014. It's also expected to be even more lucrative for those who profit off the game, with TV revenue expected to double.
