Daily Update for June 20

1. Little Progress Made At G-20
Though they have pronounced themselves united in the effort to increase growth and employment in the global economy, world leaders have thus far made little progress towards those goals at the Group of 20 conference currently taking place in Mexico. Notably, Chancellor Andrea Merkel of Germany hasn't been convinced to approve more government spending to aid the Greek economy, a step President Obama and other leaders have been urging.

2. Mubarak Suffers Stroke
Former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak was removed from his prison cell and taken to a military hospital on Tuesday after suffering a stroke. Though he appears to be critically ill, removing Mubarak from prison is likely to enrage the Egyptian public, who are widely suspicious of the military and its allegiance to the former president.

3. Poll Shows Strong Support For New Health Care Effort
If the Supreme Court overturns President Barack Obama's 2010 healthcare law, Americans overwhelmingly want a new overhaul of the healthcare system. Though such a bill doesn't appear to be in the works by either party, a new AP-GkK poll shows that more than 75% of Americans don't want to revert to the old system.
