1. Court Dissolves Egyptian Parliament
Egypt is once again the scene of massive popular protests as a panel of judges originally appointed by ousted president Hosni Mubarak dissolved the popularly elected parliament and allowed Mubarak's former prime minister to run for president in a series of controversial decisions on Thursday. The actions essentially mount to a military-backed coup, and come just two days before an expected runoff election for the Egyptian presidency.

2. Police Arrest Last Suspect In Tokyo Gas Attack
Japanese authorities announced on Friday that they had arrested the last suspect in the 1995 nerve gas attack on the Tokyo subway. Katsuya Takahashi was caught in front of a comic book cafe when staff members recognized him and alerted authorities. As a member of the Aum Supreme Truth cult, Takahashi allegedly assisted the group in releasing sarin gas in the subway system, killing 13 people and wounding more than 5,000 others.

3. Armstrong Prepares To Fight Latest Doping Charges

Seven-time Tour de France champion and cancer survivor Lance Armstrong is preparing to fight the most serious charges of cheating he has ever faced. The U.S. Anti-Doping Agency notified the cyclist earlier this week that new charges of doping would be filed against him, giving Armstrong until next Friday to respond. "I'm exploring all my options," Armstrong told reporters on Thursday.
