Microsoft Stores?

Microsoft is launching their own brand of brick and mortar stores creatively named Microsoft Stores. Microsoft is most likely building these stores to compete with the widely popular Apple Stores. Should Microsoft put the money and effort in to these stores? We dive into the story to find out.
Actually, there isn't much diving to do. Microsoft Stores have several obvious disadvantages. Some 90% of their income comes from manufactures, like Dell and HP, who buy Microsoft's software to put on their computers.  There isn't a large group of consumers who buy Microsoft products straight from Microsoft. Even Microsoft Office is bought mainly through manufacture sites like Dell and Apple.
Microsoft also has many more products than Apple. They have hundres, if not thousands, of different software suits available, and thousands of different hardwar, from loads of different manufactures. There is no way that Microsoft can get "Geniuses" like Apple does that can solve pretty much any problem.
Also, at Apple Stores, if your hardware crashes, they can just give you a new one thanks to the warranty. Microsoft would not be able to do this, because all of the hardware that has their software on it is from different manufactures, so Microsoft does not have the rights to just give new ones away.
A Microsoft does have several advantages though. The Xbox is one of them. A Xbox store is like a gamers dream come true. If Microsoft would devote a large portion of their store to Xbox, they might have a chance of making it. They could sell Xbox consoles and a large selection of games, unlike most stores which just have 10-50 games.
Another advantage they would have is that people who love Microsoft, loveee Microsoft. They could get a great deal of money out of Microsoft fanboys, just like Apple does.
Overall though, I don't think there is a wide enough group of people who really need a Microsoft Store. It would also be difficult for them to help a wide range of people.
I think Microsoft Stores will do very good at first, as people discover and check them out. I know I will. I think over time, however, Microsoft Stores will loose than "wow" factor and slowly go away.
Unless Microsoft has something up its sleeve, which they very well could, this is what will happen.
