The 111 "Phenomenon"

For people born before 2000: Add the last two digits of the year you were born with the age you will be this year and you get 111.
For people born after 2000: Add the last two digits of the year you were born to the age you will be this year and you get 11.
For people born before 1800: Add the last two digits of the year you were born to the age you will be this year and you get 211.

These simple equations work for everyone. It isn't really a "phenomenon," its a mathematical equation. It's also the definition of a birthday. But, it's still cool. You can continue this equation back even further of you'd like. If you were born before 1700, how's your eye sight? and the number would be 311. Before 1600, 411. Next century, 2100, all these number increase by 100. The 111 in the first equation becomes 211 and the 111 become people born in this century. That may be confusing to some people but trust me, it's true.
