A very good TV show is Persons Unknown. The plot revolves around a woman who is kidnapped and taken to a mysterious town with 5 other people. There is no escape from the town. There is a electric field surrounding the town that kills you if you leave. They soon discover that there are several Chinese cooks in the town as well who feed them, but can not speak english. There is also a hotel manager who will not tell them anything. In the outside world, a reporter is discovering several kidnappings and is on to something big when he is nearly killed by men in blue. As the people int he town try desperatly to escape, the reporter searches the world for more information about the disappearance of these people and his ex-wife. They all soon find out that not everyone is who they say they are.
The show is very good. The mystery of it all intrigues you. The first reason you think of for the kidnappings is that they are being kept there for an experiment, but the real reason is much more complicated than that. You can by the first season on DVD below or watch the first episode online here.
